Euro Trip 2012: Day 1 ~ London - Paris

Pada 14 Feb 2012, aku dan suami terchenta chartered teksi tuk ke LCCT.  Kitorang gerak dari rumah dalam kol 11.30 pagi.  Sampai kat LCCT dalam kol 12.30 camtu.  Wannie, opismet husband aku yang pegi skali ngan kitorang dah ada kat sana.  We were told that our flight has been delayed from 2.50pm to 4.30pm.  Well sementara tu kami check-in and lunch dulu kat Food Garden, LCCT.  Both Wannie and I had nasi ayam penyet (abess diet aku... hahahaha...) while hubster had mixed rice.  Abes jek lunch terus kami masuk ke departure hall.

Tepat jam 4.30pm, flight D714 (KL-London) dipanggil untuk departure di Gate 16.  Flight ke London ni memakan masa selama 13 jam (fuh! kematu pungkoq mak).  Setengah jam after take-off, we were served with our pre-booked meal.  Hubster chose Malaysian meal for both of us.  1st meal was Nasi Lemak Pak Nasir and 2nd meal was served 3 hours before landing.  We had Nasi Beriyani for our 2nd meal.  Sepanjang flight tu both hubster and I weren't got a good sleep due to a group of mamat spanish yang sat next to us  ni dok sembang kuat gila sampai irritated other passengers yang tido.

Kami touched down di Gatwick Airport lebih kurang pukul 11pm.  Since sampai dah lewat, hubster tak pre-book any accommodation.  So, kami just hang around / tido kat airport je sementara tunggu pagi. 

Ramai ok orang tido kat airport... termasuklah kitorang.. hehehehe

The morning came.  We had salad, pita bread and yogurt for breakfast.  Bought at Marks & Spencer.  That breakfast cost us GBP4.  Lepas breakfast, kami turun ke ground floor untuk menaiki bus ke London.  Harga tiket bus National Express dari Gatwik-->London (Victoria) adalah GBP8 untuk single journey.  Perjalanan dari Gatwick Airport ke London memakan masa selama 1 jam.

Sutton town

Setelah sejam, kami tiba di depot National Express di Victoria.  Dari depot bas tersebut, kami berjalan kaki ke Victoria Station untuk menaiki underground tube / bus ke central London.  Memandangkan keadaan stesen tube yang penuh sesak time tu, kami decide tuk naik bus jer ke Piccadilly Circus dengan tambah GBP2.30 untuk single journey, naik bus No. 38.

Sampai kat Piccadilly Circus, kitorang berjalan sampai ke Trafalgar Square.  Lepak jap kat situ sambil makan bekalan.  Lepas makan, kitorang singgah kat souvenir shop area Haymarket.  Beli postcards nak post kat anak-anak kekdahnya.  Then kami jalan menyusuri Regent Street kemudian ke Oxford Street.  Seronok sey... kat sini ada banyak boutiques.... sangat seswai tuk shopping.  Kat Oxford Street tu kitorang terjumpa Dave Choo.  A Malaysian yang bukak bisnes jual souvenirs.

Dari Oxford Street, kami menuju ke St. Pancras International tuk menaiki train ke Paris.  Mangai... we had a long walk.. jauh gilers okay... We should have taken a bus.. ni sume si Dave Choo punya pasal la ni...

Finally, sampai jek kat St. Pancras, kami terus check-in.  Train will depart at 4pm.  The journey is about 3 hours.  Harga bagi tiket Eurostar ke Paris is GBP42.50 if you purchased online or GBP200+ if u purchase on the spot.

We reached Paris at about 7.30pm. Dari Gare Du Nord train station, kami jalan kaki menuju ke hostel.  Cuaca malam tu hujan renyai-renyai.  Memula kitorang ingat nak amik cab.  Tapi bila hubster tunjuk address hostel tu, terus cab driver tu suh kitorang jalan kaki jer.. it's about 5minutes walk from the station.  Lucky he showed us the way.. sampai kat depan pintu hostel lagik uols.... merci, monsieur... Sampai jek hostel terus kitorang checked-in.  Alhamdulillah... all of us are in one room.. and our room ada own toilet.. ala... uols just imagine a hotel room with a double-decker bed and a single bed... that how our room looks like.. sorry ek.. tak teringat langsung nak amek gambo kat dalam bilik... sorry uols... mak kepenatan malam tu...
